‘Bhopal Express’ director Mahesh Mathai on Zeenat Aman: She was the epitome of Indian cool and hip – Times of India

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman is one of the finest and beautiful actresses, Bollywood has ever witnessed. She made a name for herself in the industry for her bold characters in the films.

Now, on the occasion of her 69th birthday, Mahesh Mathai, director of her film ‘Bhopal Express’ shared, “When Dev Anand‘s ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ released in 1971, Zeenat Aman was the epitome of Indian cool and hip. Nearly 30 years later when I got to know her as a person and to direct her in her return to the cinema, I realised that she still was the epitome of cool and style. And a fabulous human being!”

‘Bhopal Express’ also starred Kay Kay Menon, Naseeruddin Shah, Nethra Raghuraman and Vijay Raaz along with Zeenat Aman. The music was composed by the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio.

On the work front, Zeenat was last seen in Ashutosh Gowariker‘s period drama ‘Panipat’. She played the role of Sakeena Begum in the film.
